The social and political problems that currently afflict Croatia are fascinating phenomena every citizen and especially the younger population. In this paper, we tried to explore how opinions and views about this kind of problems students have two faculties: the Faculty of Philosophy in Split and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Split. We started with their structural and socio-demographic determinants: gender, place of residence, finishing high school, the average monthly income .. Results showed us the presence of skepticism about the current social situation among lstudentma. They see corruption, economic crisis and recession as the major problems that has been plaguing Croatia. Furthermore they do not have much political intention to activate and engage in politics even though they have their own ideological and political preferences about and have some political parties or political movements closer than others. They believe that the media censor or manipulated in favor of political propaganda. Through a growing skepticism there is still looming some hope because the students have not completely lost faith in all the politicians. They also maintain some basic human values such as hard work and although they are worried about their future they hope to launch some new trends, both in society and in the political arena, and wish ther will be changes for the better.
