In the context of our work we have carried out a research on the effect television has on children. Namely, the aim was to gather adequate and valid information about on of the essential segments in the child's life, in the period when it grows up, forms its own judgments, opinions and attitudes. 91 The research has produced the results that show us the way that children spend their time outside school, the aspects of watching television, and how much children are informed about the positive and negative sides of television programming. As and adequate method by means of which we have achieved the goal we wished for, we have applied the survey using questionnaire as an instrument, and content analysis for the childrens essays on the subject „My favorite television programme. Each child has answeres the given questionnaire with the help of the researcher and by doing it provided the needed information about the aspects of television in the childrens life's. With the gatheres information we have confrimed the basic hypothesis of our work where we assumed that children are adequately informed and advised that the television programme has content that is not aduquet for children their age, but that they don't give a lot of attention to that. Children watch televison mostley at night, togerther with their parents, and according to that they indicate that their favourite television shows are movies and series. They usually watch content that is not appropriate for them, but at the same time their parents don't let them watch uninpropriet content that could „harm“ them. By all means it tis vital to stress the importance that television has in the lives of children during their growing up and forming of personalities. Precisley from this arose our interest in the research of this subject in which the willingness od children from „Majstora Radovana“ primary school to give us the information that we have produced in our work helped us a lot.
