Quality of life is determined by the direct and indirect relations in society, community, politics, production, culture, upbringing, education and the types of support that are available to the people. Different societies had different attitude towards people with disabilities and even to persons with hearing and visual impairment, from a completely inhumane treatment and stigma, ignorance and passive attitude to integration and equal opportunities. In recent years, numerous changes in modern society and the emerging understanding of the abilities of people with disabilities had an impact on changing attitudes and creating new conditions for improving their status in society. The paper presents the results of the study on a sample of 296 respondents which was aimed to examine the opinions of the citizens of Split on the quality of life of deaf and deafblind people, their social status, educational opportunities and opportunities of access to the labor market. The results shows that only a small number of respondents know deaf or deafblind person which indicate their social isolation as one of the difficulties they encounter. But, the survey showed favorable attitudes towards deaf and deafblind people, their abilities and skills, as well as the effects of integration on their development and the inclusion of sign language and sign language interpreter/intervenor in regular education system. On the other hand, the respondents evaluated regular educational system inadequate for the deaf and deafblind people pointing to the need to ensure all preconditions without which the success of educational inclusion is not possible.
