Dance and rhythmic structures have an important role in the Physical Education's program and are extremely applicable and quality activity in working with primary school children, because they respect the rules of growth and development, satisfy the need for movement and play, and they have a great influence on the transformation of the anthropological characteristics and motor skills. The research was conducted in eight primary schools in the city of Split district. The aim of the research was to determine which dance and rhythmic structures are used by teachers in Physical Education and in which way. The survey was done among 71 participants during May and June. It has shown that the majority of teachers use dance and rhythmic structures sometimes, most often in the final part of the class. Most teachers use props such as balls, sticks and ropes and music background when performing structures. Also, dance and rhythmic structures are used in Music and Croatian, in free time and between other classes. All teachers consider the use of dance and rhythmic structures in teaching useful, and the reasons for that are the overall physical and mental development of the child: the development of coordination, better posture, spatial orientation, the development of motor, intellectual and functional abilities, rhythm development, hearing, speech and creativity, developing a love for music and dance as well as getting to know the culture
