The subject of the thesis is the comparison of initial measurements in preschool children. Morphological anthropometry, a key aspect of kinanthropometry, includes examination and measurement of body structure, composition, motor skills, functional characteristics and exercise-related abilities. In addition to anthropometric characteristics, other anthropological characteristics are also evaluated with different tests. The aim of the thesis is to compare the initial measurements of preschool children who attended the same group in the kindergarten „Srećica“ during the academic year 2021/2022. and academic year 2023/2024. The assessment included an assessment of the physical characteristics, motor and functional abilities of preschool children. Physical characteristics were measured by assessing body height, weight and forearm circumference, assessment of motor skills included hand tapping, standing long jump, various forward bends, backbends and trunk lifting, while functional abilities were assessed by running, i.e. the distance covered within 90 seconds. Eight boys and four girls participated in the research. The findings revealed a statistically significant variation between the two initial measurements of the anthropological characteristics of the examined children. Statistically significant differences in these measurements were also analyzed when only boys and only girls are observed, where it was shown that there is a statistically significant difference in the results of the initial measurements for boys, while no such difference was observed for girls.
