After his death, Tito left a system without a proper center. At that moment, the presidency of Yugoslavia was about to take over the role of a state leader in the form of an institution made out of members of each republic or province. That decision was set to be a failure. Yugoslavia was rushing into crisis. Serbian politicians pointed out that Yugoslavia could not survive because it's 1974 constitution allowed minorities to terorize Serbian people and assume their teritory. Political image changed over night when Slobodan Milošević took over. His main intention was to take away autonomy from the two provinces. Slobodan Milošević had in mind creating a homogenous republic. Serbian nationalism was the root of the war. Leaders of the Yugoslavian state met up a couple of times to discuss the future of Yugoslavia but each time they took advantage of the situtation to voice their complains. At the end, Serbia started a war with non-Serbian population, Europe and the rest of the world; with everyone that decided to support other nations in their quest for independence and sovereignity. Ethnic cleansing, which started in Croatia, became the biggest attribute of the war in Bosnia and Hercegovina. In the first half of 1993 the war broke out between Muslims and Croatians. Eventually, USA stepped in and terminated the war, sealing it with the Dayton Agreement that divided the State of Bosnia and Herzegovina into the Federation of Bosna-Herzegovina and Republika Srpska. The division was unfair and while the Serbian war force weakened, Croats and Bosnian Muslims were starting to rise up. In a matter of days and with the help from the West, Croatia was able to get back almost all of its teritory. At that moment the Serbian nationalist agenda started to cave in. Milošević's political allies started abandoning him slowly and he even lost the presidential election. His role in the fall of Yugoslavia was crucial. 83
