In an increasingly dynamic and competitive environment, it is challenging to clearly express one's opinion, current emotional state or disagreement. All this requires a lot of courage and preparation. Recognizing that communication is not only talking, but also listening, is the way to a pleasant working atmosphere, reducing the frequency of conflict situations, taking a stand and expressing needs in order to build strong relationships and a more stable environment. Acquiring assertive communication skills significantly contributes to the improvement of the working atmosphere, stimulating environment and satisfied individuals with a sense of purpose and being noticed. Assertive communication style is the only one that brings positive outcomes for all parties involved in communication in almost every situation. Using assertive communication, we send a message to ourselves and others that we are worthy of respect and that we have certain rights. Such communication helps us to avoid the negative consequences of aggressive and passive communication. The results of the survey conducted for the purposes of this work point out that assertive communication is present in educators as a communication style that contributes to professionalism in their daily work. As is characteristic of assertiveness, educators stand up for themselves by trying to set boundaries.
